Ed Ritter

Ed Ritter is Chairman and CEO at Generali USA. He has a long and varied history with Business Men's Assurance Company and with Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., including Corporate Finance Advisor for Generali, acting as Investor Relations representative in the U.S. for the head office in Trieste, Italy.

Ed joined BMA in 1990 as Vice President, Finance and Treasurer and eventually became Vice President, Corporate Development. Upon the sale of BMA by Generali, Ed was Senior Vice President, Individual Operations and Corporate Development. He played a key role in the sale of BMA as well as establishing the new Generali USA in Kansas City. Ed was most recently President at Generali USA. Ed is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City (1976) and serves on the Boards of Preferred Physicians Medical Insurance Company, PPMIS (a software company specializing in anesthesia billing) and Generali's U.S. branch in New York.

J.C. Brueckner

J.C. Brueckner is President and COO at Generali USA. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa and earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (1984). He also has an FLMI designation. In addition to over 20 years of reinsurance experience primarily in sales and marketing, J.C. has experience in risk management, process improvement and leadership development programs. Most recently J.C. served at Senior Vice President - Sales, Marketing & Underwriting at Generali USA. Prior to joining Generali USA in 2004, J.C. worked for Transamerica Re as Vice President - Sales & Market Research.

Jay Kinnamon

Jay Kinnamon is Senior Vice President - CFO and Chief Actuary at Generali USA. He previously worked for 22 years for BMA in various actuarial positions, most recently as Vice President and Corporate Actuary. Jay graduated from Drake University (1981) with majors in Actuarial Science and Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1981, Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) in 1984, and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in 1986.

David Gates

David Gates is Senior Vice President - General Counsel & Secretary at Generali USA. David is a graduate of DePaul College of Law (1980) and attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate. Prior to Generali USA, David was Vice President - Generali Counsel and Secretary at BMA for 12 years.

David is also the Director, Regulatory Affairs - US Generali Group. He provides compliance and regulatory advice to Assicurazioni Generali's S.p.A. (Generali), U.S. operations.

David joined the Nevada Department of Insurance (1983) and was appointed the Nevada Commissioner of Insurance (1983-1990). As a Commissioner he was active in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) culminating in his election and service as President of the NAIC (1989). He has also served as a court appointed Liquidator for the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of West Virginia, Inc (1990-1991).

Bill Crouch

Bill Crouch is Senior Vice President of Technology and Administration at Generali USA.

Bill is responsible for technology and process improvement as well as administration of client contracts, customer service functions and benefit payments. Bill began his employment with Business Men's Assurance Company in 1980 as Director of Internal Audit. He moved to Reinsurance Administration Vice President in 1988. He assumed his current position with Generali USA in 2003. Bill was previously employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a special agent.

Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University (1972) and Master of Science degree from the University of Kansas (2001). He is a member of Delta Gamma Sigma, a scholastic honorary for business schools, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, a social fraternity. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and serves as a member of the board of directors of the Kansas City chapter of Junior Achievement.

Terry Dickinson

Terry Dickinson is Senior Vice President - Group Reinsurance & Sales at Generali USA. Terry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Drake University - Des Moines (1981). Terry brings 18 years of reinsurance experience to Generali USA and most recently came from ING ReliaStar where he was Vice President - Group Life Reinsurance.

Nate Johnson

Nate Johnson joined Generali USA in January of 2006 as Vice President - Underwriting. Nate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota (1977), and his career in the reinsurance business spans 27 years. Most recently, Nate spent nine years at ING RE, four of which he held the title of Vice President & Chief Underwriter. Additionally, Nate has CLU, FALU and FLMI designations. He is a member of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU).

Tammy Kapeller

Tammy Kapeller is Vice President, Process Improvement at Generali USA. She joined the company in 1988 as an Actuarial Student. Tammy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska (1987) and has an MBA from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (2005). Tammy is leading a major initiative to review all business processes at Generali USA and work with others in the organization to redesign processes to make them more effective and efficient. Tammy has FSA and MAAA designations.

Randy Makin

Randy Makin is Vice President - Chief Pricing Actuary at Generali USA. He is responsible for overseeing the pricing of individual life products, joint venture products with client companies and accidental death benefit risks. He also oversees the performance of experience studies and the development of pricing methodology and assumptions.

Randy joined Business Men's Assurance Company in 1985 in the Individual Health division and was responsible for pricing major medical and disability income risks. He also handled state variations and file rate increases. In 1988 he moved to the reinsurance division of BMA to manage pricing and experience studies for reinsurance products and to oversee the treaty function. Randy has over 23 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Randy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drury College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Kansas. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Member, American Academy of Actuaries, and Fellow, Life Management Institute.

Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch is Vice President - Treasurer and Controller at Generali USA. Mike is a licensed C.P.A. with over 17 years experience in the life insurance industry. His experience includes corporate financial reporting, corporate accounting, treasury and internal audit. Prior to his current position, Mike was Assistant Controller and Vice President at Business Men's Assurance Company. He has a BSBA degree in Accounting from Rockhurst University (1985).

Randy Meyer

Randy Meyer is Vice President & Financial Actuary at Generali USA. He spent 14 years with Business Men's Assurance Company and held several titles including Individual Actuarial Vice President, Illustration Actuary and Corporate Actuarial Vice President. He is a graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Actuarial Science (1982). Randy is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mark Swanson

Mark Swanson is Vice President – Marketing Actuary at Generali USA.  Mark returned to Generali USA in 2006, having begun his career at BMA in 1991.  He supports both the pricing process at Generali USA as well as the marketing efforts of our sales staff by serving as an actuarial partner for clients.  He will also be spearheading our client mortality initiative – an emerging effort to leverage Generali’s internal mortality study capability in ways that directly benefit our clients.   Mark has 14 years of experience in the reinsurance business, having worked for several reinsurance companies both in the United States and in Europe.  Mark has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Physics from Grinnell College, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Chartered Life Underwriter.

Lesia Troesser

Lesia Troesser is Vice President - Human Resources & Corporate Services at Generali USA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (1981) and her MBA from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri (1981). Prior to Generali USA, Lesia was Benefits and Compensation Vice President at Business Men's Assurance Company for 21 years. She has an FLMI designation and is active in KCCBA (Kansas City Compensation and Benefits Association) and WorldatWork, an association for Human Resources professionals.
